Today I had an early class and, due to complete lack of sleep, I was running really really late. Throwing on some cloths I rushed out the door like a demon and nearly threw myself into my car. Pulling out of the driveway I tore hell down my road in the usual way the people do while going down a place that's familier to them. The sort of thing where you know how the street usually is and you know what's generally safe and what's not. Unfortunatly for me there was something different about this day then all the others.
When you go down my street there are two stop signs. The first is at the top of my road and it's fairly safe and easy to manuver through. The second one, however, isn't so easy. It only has two stop signs when it should have three ( the people coming towards the street and going straight don't have to stop ). Well usually people are turning left onto our road for the one that goes straight doesn't really go anywhere so no one ever really stops for the full time that you're supposed to. Well that was my case when I went down that way. I didn't actually stop, just looked both ways before going on. Unfortunatly because of the turn I didn't see a girl coming straight at me and going straight. I wasn't able to stop in time and ended up smashing right into the side of her. It wasn't a bad accident and no one was hurt, but it was the first one that I was involved in and boy was it a bitch. Luckly enough though I live in a small town so I know practically everyone and the girl I ran into was very nice and understanding. I knew the policeman who took care of us ( he ran the D.A.R.E. program at my elementary school ) as well so he was also very understanding.
In the end all I have to do is go to court and since it's a first offense they said I would just get a fine. Also my car is completly totalled. T-chan's entire front bumper came completly off and he was leaking some sort of radiator fluid or something. I should have taken pictures. But get this, despite all that he still ran enough for the tow trucks to get him out of the ditch we ended up in. That was one tough car. To bad I'm not going to have him anymore. We're going to scrap him and then buy me another one. Proabably a new one instead of used.
Well whatever happens the important thing is that we're both okay. No one was hurt in the least and the cars took the most of it. Although I have to admit ( and I know there are going to be people not happy about this ) the first thought that I had after I fully realized what had just happened was "Damn, to bad this didn't kill me." Of course I think that might be typical for someone who rammed into another person and knew it was there fault and that they were going to have to deal with angry people afterwards. My parents didn't seem to care that much about it though. They were just happy that I wasn't hurt.
